Letter from the CEO: When Compliance & Leadership Strategy Become One Conversation

"Compliance and strategy aren't two conversations — they're one."

Dear Succeeders,

Before this goes anywhere else, you get it first. That's what this community is about. You've been on this journey with me, and early access is the least I can do for the people who show up and stay plugged in.

March is the month I've set aside to go deep on something I've been watching closely and something the research is making harder and harder to ignore. HR leaders and institutional decision-makers are navigating some of the most significant regulatory shifts in decades. And most are doing it with lean teams, limited runway, and no clear playbook.

Conversations at a recent Acrisure summit (alongside data from NACUBO, CUPA-HR, Inside Higher Ed, and EDUCAUSE) painted a picture I couldn't stop thinking about. So I built something to help make it actionable.

What did I build?

"You can have the best compliance framework on paper and still be exposed if your leadership team isn't aligned on how to execute it.”

All month long, we're going deep on exactly that intersection. Here's what we're focusing on:

Compliance Readiness: Understanding where your institution is exposed and what the 2025 regulatory shifts mean for your HR functions right now.

Leadership Strategy Alignment: Ensuring your leadership team is equipped, not just your policy documents, to navigate this moment with clarity and confidence.

To kick off the month, I'm sharing my 2026 HR Compliance Prep Guide: a resource I built to surface the three areas where I'm seeing the most significant gaps for HR and institutional leaders today.

Each section includes a self-assessment question. Not to alarm you — but because I believe leaders deserve to know where they actually stand before a challenge finds them first.

So, why this guide?

“…because clarity is the first step toward strategic action.”

I want to be transparent with you! I built this guide from research, from conversations in the field, and from a genuine commitment to making sure the leaders I serve aren't caught off guard by changes that are already in motion.

I haven't sat across the table from every institution navigating this moment. But I've been doing the work of staying close to what's happening, so that when you're ready to have that conversation, I can show up prepared.

If any of the three areas in this guide surfaced something that feels bigger than a quick read, I'd genuinely welcome the conversation. Not to pitch you anything, but because clarity is the first step toward strategic action. And that's exactly what this month is about.

I'm opening a limited number of sessions this month for leaders who are ready to take an honest look at their compliance posture and build a path forward. Direct, focused, and completely without obligation.
